Wyvern is a gated development of 17 five-bedroomed houses, located in the heart of Bray, arrived at through a pedestrianised civic space or via an underground carpark. The design of the houses was guided by the local vernacular and gestures towards same in elements of the detailing. While the layout of the houses surrounding a central courtyard is formal, there is a nod towards the contemporary where the blocks turn through 90 degrees in the form of circular houses acting as ‘visual hinges’ to facilitate the shifting of the more traditional facades.
